Members of the firm primarily represent the insured of Medical Mutual Insurance Society of Maryland, Maryland’s physician mutual that insures approximately 80% of the physicians in the State. The firm members primarily represent Medical Mutual insureds in the western counties of Maryland and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, Northern Division.
The firm members represent physicians throughout the state of Maryland in matters relating to physician licensing and privileges. Ed Goundry is a certified mediator for the State of Maryland and is frequently appointed by the Circuit Court Judges of Maryland as a mediator under Maryland’s mandatory mediation rules.
The firm members have tried well over 100 jury trials in medical malpractice and general insurance defense cases and enjoy an enviable record of over 80% defense verdicts. The firm members also have an extensive appellate practice in the Courts of Appeal of Maryland and the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
